You Will Fall in Love with This Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500

One of the first things that come to mind when Royal Enfield comes into the discussion is that these Indian bikes are probably the closest to the real retro bikes of yore one can lay a hand on.

This claim is true, even if Royal Enfield has com a long way to adding modern technology to these machines and is also making efforts to refine their looks. Until a completely new generation of bikes manages to bridge the gap between the old-school vibe and the modern two-wheelers, Royal Enfield remains a herald of the golden era of motorcycling.

Even so, it doesn't mean that custom builders and modders are confined by the same restraints. Freedom to explore new directions and to experiment with a new design language has, in fact been one of the most powerful engines to drive the progress.

Color play and Harley wheels

This Thunderbird 500 seems to epitomize the free spirit in its purest form. A build of Indian workshop Eimor Customs, this spectacular Royal Enfield shows that there is more to these bikes than meets the eye... provided they reach the right hands.

The build is merely an aesthetic upgrade, with the Thunderbird remaining stock on the tech side. Eimor Customs went for a bright, eye-catching Jet Yellow tank and a matching racing stripe on the side covers.

Seeing the rest of the bike finished in matte black only looks like the sole natural choice a man in his right mind could make. And the absence of chrome is probably an even sweeter thing.

The crash bars and the silencer were also covered in black, as the engine covers and cylinder head, the new handlebars. Chrome can only be seen on the dual shock spring and the turn signal casing. We can live with that, anyway.

With a different two-up seat, this Thunderbird looks like the real deal. The reshaped line of the seating area is a glorious match for the chopped fenders and the Harley-Davidson Iron wheels, while the LED lens headlight adds an even more modern vibe to the bike. Some say it reminds of the Ducati Scrambler but honestly, we kind of like this Royal Enfield more.
