Honda CX400 Well Taken Care Of

Sometimes a bike needs much less than we'd expect in order to gain a sleek look and convey a solid custom spirit. It's the case of this Honda CX400 belonging to a French rider named Florian.

Right from the start Florian wanted a clean motorcycle and knew he was not constrained by any aesthetic limitations. Without trying to label the bike in any way and drawing his inspiration from multiple styles, Florian managed to mix together a bit of cafe-racer with some flattracker DNA and a dash of scrambler attitude, with the upgraded CX400 impossible to latch onto a certain type.

Trying to avoid the shine of glossy pain, Florian sandblasted the engine, leaving its aluminium matte texture on display and matching the rest of the paint scheme to the same satin dullness. Having the tank and the carbon-textured rear mini cowl painted in bright white added a hefty dose of contrast with the rest of the bike, and it was now clear that the rims needed to be satin black, too.

Florian's CX400 is almost stock, if he looks mught be deceiving. Deciding it was too much transformation adding some modern-era rotors for the front, he left the brakes unmodified, but the upper front end received multiple changes.

All the instrumentation was changed with a small digital unit with concealed LED lights which remain unseen until lit, a side-mounted temp gauge under the tank, new bars and a modern headlight.

Finally adding dual-sport tires now allows Florian to ride his nifty CX400 through the city traffic and make daring incursions far from the paved roads, in the most scrambler-ish way imaginable. Seen on UPDLT.
