This year BMW’s M5 celebrated 30 years of existence and the Munich-based company just couldn’t let such an occasion to go past them without releasing an anniversary model. ’30 Jahre Edition’ is the name of the car they launched and it’s truly an exquisite appearance.
Built in only 300 units, it’s the fastest and most powerful car the Germans ever made, with the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 taken up to 600 HP and a 0-62 mph (100 km/h) sprint of just 3.9 seconds, despite being rear-wheel drive. Those are some incredible numbers for a 2 ton sedan, don’t you think?

Apart from those hair rising figures, the car is also stunning to look at. It’s done in Frozen Dark Silver Metallic and features bi-color wheels. Inside, Alcantara dresses almost everything up and the seats are more comfortable than ever. There’s even a plaque on the dash telling you that all of this is special.

Under that beautiful skin hides the Competition Package that brings a new rear differential, a new suspension and other tweaks done to the chassis. All of them are there to emphasize the way this car drives.

Is it working? Is the price tag worth the trouble if you exclude the exclusive character of the car? That’s what the guys from Autoblog set out to find. They were disappointed by one or two things but in the end, this is truly a rare masterpiece that would compliment any collector’s garage.
